Bio
Francesca Ricciardelli is an Assistant Professor (Teaching) of Italian at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She completed her PhD in Translation and Language Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona in 2024. Her dissertation, “Strategie spontanee di Intercomprensione di una poesia in italiano: osservazione su tre gruppi di partecipanti,” explored spontaneous intercomprehension strategies in response to an Italian poem among three groups of participants. Francesca obtained her second MA in Italian Studies from California State University, Long Beach in 2019, where she began her research in Intercomprehension, Multilingualism, and Second Language Acquisition. She earned her first MA in Language Sciences from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice in 2016, and her BA in Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics—specializing in English and French—from the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna in 2014.
